Bon voyage Europe!

Well we have left Berlin and travelled by train to Frankfurt airport and then flew with Qantas to Singapore and then Sydney...

Our final evening in Berlin and Europe

Well we had a lovely evening in Berlin as we prepare ourselves for the long journey home tomorrow. Of course it was a lovely warm evening with the sun setting on the buildings and hardly a cloud in the sky, shame it wasn't like this on other nights!

Berlin - day 4

Our last day of sight seeing and another busy one at that. We started out at the East Side gallery, which is a part of the Berlin wall that still remains today and has been painted. We then headed to Bernauer Street which was a street that was East Berlin on one side and West Berlin on the other, a very interesting memorial has been set up. In the afternoon we visited the Jewish Museum.

Our third day was huge and once we have walked our feet off. We visited two of Berlin's museums and they both had so much to see. We also stopped at checkpoint Charlie, memorial to the murdered Jews and memorial to the homosexual victims of national socialism.

We had a huge day yesterday and enjoyed our second day in Berlin. Here are some pictures that we took during our second day.

Visit to Sachsenhausen concentration camp

Today we did a tour of a concentration camp north of Berlin which operated between 1936 and 1945 before becoming a Russian prison until 1950. We have decided not to post any pictures out of resect and also because it was a very emotionally draining day.

We made our way north from the Czech Republic to Berlin today and we also had a major weather change from 21 to 13... We had a wonderful afternoon exploring the city.

Our second and last day in Prague

Our last day in Prague so we made the most of it. We completed our visit to the castle, then walked through more gardens, climbed a tower, rode a funicular, crossed several bridges and then enjoyed a lovely symphony of Mozart and Strauss before finishing at an American diner called TGI Fridays! What a big day for sight seeing.

First day in Prague

Wow, so many photo oppurtunities, Prague is such a beautiful city and the people are so friendly. We had a lovely flight from Roma yesterday afternoon to Prague with Czech airlines who were very good.

Ciao Italia

Our last day in Rome and Italy was spent just wandering around taking in a few last sights before we leave. Also visited a few more eateries along our journey. We have had an amazing time traveling around Italy and will miss it very much.
