Hong Kong first evening

We arrived in Hong Kong after a great flight with Qantas. I have to say that they are consistent and we couldn't fault the flight and truly love travelling in the new Airbus A380 what a great way to travel. We cleared through customers and immigration fairly quickly collected our bags and boarded the Airport Express into Kowloon and were whisked away on the fast train which took around 30 minutes and then we took a taxi to our hotel, you think the taxis in Sydney are insane then you must visit Hong Kong :-)

We checked into our hotel the Intercontinental Grand Stamford which I have to say is very impressive and made our way to the room which has an amazing view of Victoria Harbour.

Sydney to Hong Kong

Well our Hong Kong trip has finally arrived it has kind of snuck up on us as we have been very busy with work and learning French. We are very excited about our week in Hong Kong and looking forward to exploring this modern East meets West world. We have a flight time of 8 hours and 9 minutes today, what to do?

Coolum Beach

We had a very relaxing holiday up here on the Sunshine Coast. We visited friends on the Gold Coast during our stay and spent New Years Eve with friends and had a lovely dinner.

Coolum Beach post Christmas holiday

After a very long year we decided to have a short break after Christmas and return to one of our favourite holiday destinations in Queensland, Coolum Beach. We arrived yesterday after a very short flight to Brisbane and the collected a rental car for the trip up the coast to our villa for 6 nights of doing nothing but rest and enjoy the warm weather.

B787 flight

What an amazing aircraft. The plane has loads of automation including toilet seats being lowered, taps in the bathroom automatically turning on and off and window shades that automatically open on take off and landing. The flight was incredibly smooth and very fast we reached our cruising altitude of 43,000 feet in less than 20 minutes after take off.

We arrived into Melbourne in time for our second and most important hop on the B787 to the Gold Coast.

Today I am headed to Melbourne with Simon to experience Jetstar's brand new B787 Dreamliner on a flight to the Gold Coast. Our first hop is to Melbourne.
