Rome - day 2 - how much walking and food can one manage in 24 hours?

We began the day at 9:30 by meeting our morning walking tour at the Colosseum. We then spent three hours walking all over Rome looking at both Ancient and Old Roma. We then had lunch and the afternoon was spent doing a hidden Roma walking tour followed by pizza for dinner. What a long enjoyable day and our feet hate us.

Roma, Italy - day one

Well we made the trip south to Roma. The train was a very fast Frecciarossa with speeds of up to 360 Km/h. It was a very warm afternoon and we are very happy with our hotel choice. We walked around Roma after dinner to burn some of it off :-)

Our final stop was Pisa...

Something about a leaning tower... It was pretty amazing, much more amazing than I thought it would be...

Next stop San Gimignano...

We made a visit to this small town and experienced the local gelato yum...

Nicknamed the medieval Manhattan because of all the towers.

Our Tuscan lunch in Chianti region...

We had a lovely lunch amongst the most amazing views on a working organic farm...

Our visit to Siena...

Here are some photos of our time in Sienna, Italy

Tuscany under the sun

Well today was a very big day. We left Florence at 8:30 am and headed for Sienna, then Chianti region and a lovely Italian lunch at an organic farm and wine tasting, then we stopped at San Gimignano (still cannot pronounce this towns name) and then our final stop in Pisa and a visit to the fabulous Leaning tower. We returned to Florence at 8:30pm... We had a fantastic day and loved every minute of our visit to Tuscano.

Photos to follow as we drained the batteries on our cameras.

Renaissance overload in Firenze

Today was a busy day of sightseeing in Florence. We started out early at the Galleria Degli Uffizi which is pretty amazing. Then after lunch we visited Galleria dell' Academia where Michelangelo's DAVID is now located and it is truly an amazing sight that no words or photos can do it justice. We then walked to the Pizzale Michelangelo and took in the view of florence and then we finished the day having another amazing dinner at a Ristorante near our hotel.
