Sorrento - Naples (day 7)

On Friday we had our final full day in Sorrento and Italy so we decided to take the Circumvesuviana train to Naples. Firstly to visit the Museo Archeologico Nazionale which has a lot of the art, mosaics and sculptures from Pompeii and Herculaneum and also to take a look around this mysterious city.

We arrived by train into Napoli several days ago which now feels like weeks ago and were impressed with the skyline which has many high rise towers and it looks more likely to be seen in any major commercial centre and not expected to be seen in Naples.

We left the station and then followed the suggested guide out of our lonely planet guide before heading up to the museum. The other draw card to the museum was the "secret room" which has the art from the brothels and homes of the people who lived in Pompeii and apparently this room was locked up away from prying eyes as it was considered too risqué for the viewing of the public. We were impressed with what they recovered and are surprised that they considered it to be risqué.
