Walt Disney World (Part 1) EPCOT Fri. 8 Sep

Our first day since leaving home where we've been able to do something other than travelling. With the approach of Irma we've only got a few days (Friday and Saturday) before we'll need to stay indoors to avoid the winds and rain. The good news is that by the time the hurricane reaches Orlando on Sunday it will no longer be a hurricane but a tropical storm. Everything appears to be closing on Sunday and Monday so we're going to make of the next two days while we can.

Today we decided to visit Epcot part of Walt Disney World, even though we are planning to visit WDW next week when we return to Orlando after our cruise.

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival was in full swing so we were able to sample some food and wine from different countries as well as enjoy most of the rides. Crowd numbers were down due to the hurricane approach so the longest wait for any ride was about 40 minutes.

Paris - another country on the World Showcase off in the distance with one of the many storms that rolled through Orlando during the day
